Online Dating Do’s and Don’ts for Women

Published June 5, 2015

While online dating is an exciting, interesting manner in which to find a date and potential mate, there are certain things you should beware of as a woman. While some are a bit more intuitive than others, all are equally important. I’ve included a list of do’s and don’ts to help you avoid a few of the pitfalls women face in online dating.

Do’s and Don’ts in Online Dating for Women

  1. DO take your time. It is imperative that you consider what you desire in a mate before you go through the trouble of creating an account. If you dive in hastily without considering what your ideal man looks like and what your deal breakers are, you will likely end up with a pool of incompatible men in your inbox.
  2. DON’T let others deter you from what you want because THEY believe time for romance in your life is slowly slipping away. Take heed with this advice. By no means am I saying that the opinions of those closest to you don’t matter. It’s quite the contrary. If you know you have a rigid personality and can have many absurd rules in what you want, please DO listen to your friends. But if their ideal guy for you looks and sounds nothing like someone you would consider being in a relationship with, stand your ground. Besides, ultimately you have to live with the decision; not them.
  3. DON’T give up. We are all aware that the online dating scene is filled with a plethora of men. Some are there for the right reasons, and some are there for…not so right reasons. Maybe you have had your share of nonsense from those who are there for the wrong reasons. My advice to you is to keep putting yourself out there. You don’t want to miss out on the relationship of your dreams because of a few misguided men.

Obviously, this is not an exhaustive list, but it will help you tread through the murky online dating waters. For more advice and tips on online dating, visit Profiles Made Perfect.
